Among the capabilities of the CoreView 7.0 software is the STL on-the-fly function, which quickly and seamlessly generates high-quality data in the STL format. Shiny objects and surfaces can be measured without treatment. The stereovision technology acquires images fast, at an average of 10 msec, for constant measurement workflow. This non-contact, stereovision system creates reports and digitizes acquired data on the spot for analysis or direct CAD comparison. The WLS qFLASH, from Hexagon Metrology, is a compact white light scanner that uses state-of-the-art blue light technology. In addition, for both professional and consumer targeted scanners, developers of the software that manages the gathered data are adding more capability and functions focusing on ease of use. This new application does not necessarily need the capabilities of the professional 3D scanners, so lower cost versions are coming into the market. The emergence of the 3D printing industry, though, has created new applications-in particular, that of quickly capturing data about an object for eventual 3D printing or additive manufacturing. The HandyPROBE probing system generates high-accuracy measurements, to 0.022 mm. Using dynamic referencing, the environment surrounding the part to be measured is of no concern: vibrations, high/fluctuating temperatures, dust or any other extreme condition will not impact the accuracy and speed of the measuring devices. The Creaform portable 3D measurement technologies are based on the TRUaccuracy technology, which enables these devices to generate reliable and highly accurate measurements.
